Clinical Psychology Supervision

Katherine Bonaldi (Clinical Psychologist) provides Supervision to Provisional Psychologists, Clinical Psychology registrars, General Psychologists and Clinical Psychologists. She is passionate about providing supervision and she enjoys seeing many Master and Doctoral students and Clinical registrars who have been successful in reaching their professional potential. Katherine regularly updates her knowledge and skills with professional development in supervision.

Katherine has worked as a Clinical Psychologist for over 14 years and has expertise in adult complex trauma conditions but also experience in a wide range of mental health problems. She has worked in hospital systems and currently private practice. The therapies she practices are CBT, trauma-informed CBT, DBT, Schema therapy, ACT, Motivational Interviewing and Parenting Skills Training. She has experience in individual therapy, group therapy and family therapy.

Katherine aims to create a safe, reflective and encouraging space for supervisees to explore their own therapeutic style and professional identity. She is responsive and caring and aims to enhance supervisee’s confidence in their abilities in terms of identifying strengths and addressing weaknesses. Supervision provides a debriefing opportunity to manage the stress and complexity of the profession and opportunity to address any transference or counter transference and offer skill building. Supervision also provides a space to celebrate the highlights and rewarding shifts supervisees may see within themselves professionally and clients. Katherine is open to feedback and for people to bring questions, cases and issues to sessions.

She aims to assist supervisees to meet their own specific goals to meet core competencies required with AHPRA of knowledge of the discipline, exploring and dealing with any ethical dilemmas, comprehensive psychological assessment, measurement and formulations, exploring therapy interventions, research and evaluation, professional communications, cultural, age and LGBTQIA sensitivity.

Katherine has AHPRA Psychology Board approved supervisor status for:

-5+1 internship principal and secondary supervisor

-Higher degree placement supervisor 

-Working in addition to placements supervisor

-Registrar program principal and secondary supervisor (clinical psychology).
