Alice Swing | Psychologist
GradDipPsych, MPsych (Ed & Dev), MAPS
I strive to assist people in finding harmony as they navigate life’s challenges. My approach is collaborative, working with clients to achieve their goals, better understand their emotional experiences and enhance their wellbeing.
I help children (10+), teens and adults with:
- depression and low mood
- anxiety, social anxiety and health anxiety
- relationship and interpersonal difficulties
- stress management – work, study and burnout
- adjustment to illness/injury and pain management
- phobias
- low self-esteem and self criticism
- sleep problems
- difficulty adjusting to life transitions
- body image concerns and eating disorders
- academic and cognitive difficulties (assessments available)
My therapeutic approach includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion Focussed Therapy, and other mindfulness based approaches. I believe we all have the capacity to increase our awareness and thus better understand ourselves and make choices that align with our individual values.
I am passionate about building a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients and bringing genuine kindness and empathy to the room. I have found great personal growth from mindful meditation techniques and I am a lover of nature and yoga. I am an LGBTQI+ ally, a great believer in diversity, and acceptance is key to my work.
