Tal Bookatz | Psychologist
BPsychSc (Hons), MPsych (Clinical), MAPS
I am a psychologist with a compassionate and collaborative approach to therapy. I work with teens aged 13 plus as well as adults, offering support for a range of challenges in a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental environment. My goal is to empower clients to explore their concerns, build resilience, and make meaningful changes in their lives.
I work with clients presenting with:
- Anxiety and depression
- Personality disorders
- Body image concerns and self-esteem challenges, including eating disorders and body dysmorphia
- Grief and loss
- Relationship and interpersonal difficulties
- Stress, including work-related stress and burnout
- Social skills, assertiveness training and social anxiety
I use evidence-based therapies tailored to each client’s needs, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based practices. I have specialised experience facilitating DBT therapy in group and individual settings, equipping clients with practical skills to manage emotions, improve relationships, and cope effectively with distress.
My training as a meditation and breathwork teacher also informs my practice, allowing me to integrate mindfulness and relaxation techniques to support clients in managing stress, improving emotional regulation, and enhancing overall well-being.
In addition to therapy, I conduct comprehensive assessments for autism, ADHD, academic, and cognitive concerns. These assessments provide valuable insights and recommendations, helping clients and their families better understand their strengths and challenges and access appropriate support.
I am currently undertaking the clinical registrar programme to become an endorsed clinical psychologist, further enhancing my knowledge and expertise to provide the highest standard of care.
