Paul Neumann – Clinical Psychologist

I have worked as a Clinical Psychologist for over 10 years across a broad range of services such as, adolescent services, crisis teams, hospitals, and university settings. Throughout this time, I have worked with all age groups and presentations, with time dedicated to the adolescent population as well as relationship and family work.

My areas of interest and experience include:

  • Anxiety disorders
  • The adolescent population (particularly young men and boys)
  • Relationship and family dynamics
  • Personal development and growth
  • Self esteem
  • Personality disorders
  • Navigating complex social and professional dynamics

I use an evidenced based practice (such as CBT, Psychodynamic and Family systems work) with a logical approach, designed to reduce symptoms/concerns and gain an overall improvement in circumstance.

My approach is one of working with the individual to help them better understand their circumstance and what is causing their current difficulties. I am guided by the principle that by improving ones understanding of their inner and outer circumstances we can work together to improve functioning and overall wellbeing.

Summary of qualifications and experience:

I completed a masters degree in Clinical Psychology (Deakin University) and am a Board approved Clinical Supervisor. Some of the organisations I have worked with include Orygen Youth Health, Headspace, The University of Melbourne, and the Royal Children’s Hospital. Over my 10+ years of experience I have worked in direct client consultations, managed student programs and psychology clinics, and provided clinical supervision in the field of clinical psychology.
